Our Story

Every business has a story behind it. Ours started with a simple idea, and grew into something we like to think of as a little like Neapolitan ice cream different flavours, better together.

Where it began

Little Miss Bookkeeping started with a simple idea: small business owners deserved better support with their numbers. Less confusion. Less accounting jargon. Less feeling like your finances were something you handed over once a year and hoped for the best.

In those early days, bookkeeping was at the heart of what we did – keeping businesses organised, compliant and on top of the numbers that keep everything moving. It still is. Little Miss Bookkeeping remains the foundation of what we do today, handling the day-to-day bookkeeping and BAS work that keeps a business running.

But as our clients grew, so did what they needed from us.

Enter Neapolitan Collective

The inspiration came from something unexpectedly simple: Neapolitan ice cream. Three flavours, different from one another, but better together. It became the perfect metaphor for how we think about business finances.

Vanilla

Bookkeeping & BAS

The foundations. Reconciling accounts, processing payroll, preparing BAS, maintaining records and keeping everything compliant. It might not always be the most exciting part of running a business, but without it, everything else becomes much harder. This is Little Miss Bookkeeping.

Strawberry

Accounting, Tax & Advisory

This is where things become a little more colourful. Tax planning. Business structures. Financial statements. Strategy. Understanding what the numbers are telling us and making better decisions because of them. This is Neapolitan Collective.

Chocolate

Financial Education

For us, this is where the real transformation happens. Helping business owners understand their numbers, ask better questions, make confident decisions, and use their business to create the life they actually want. This is Finance Yourself Academy.

Different flavours, but each one works better alongside the others.

That’s the idea behind Neapolitan Collective: bringing bookkeeping, accounting, advice and education together to support the whole financial journey of a business – the “Collective” in the name.

Because we don’t see bookkeeping, accounting, tax, advisory and financial education as isolated services. They work together. Good bookkeeping creates reliable numbers. Reliable numbers create better tax and advisory outcomes. And understanding those numbers gives a business owner the confidence to make better decisions for themselves. It’s an ecosystem, not a collection of transactions.

And Then Came Finance Yourself Academy

And Then Came Finance Yourself Academy

As our work evolved, one idea kept becoming more important: financial knowledge shouldn't belong exclusively to accountants.

We found ourselves having the same kinds of conversations with clients again and again – explaining tax, cash flow, financial reports and business structures; the fundamentals accountants understand but business owners are rarely taught. Those conversations eventually became Finance Yourself Academy: a dedicated home for the chocolate. The education. The understanding. The part where financial information stops being something that happens to you, and becomes something you can actually use.

Three Flavours. One Collective

Today, our story spans three connected brands, each still very much active in its own right.

We work as one connected team behind the scenes, split across three areas so you always know exactly who to go to and what they do.

LMB

Little Miss Bookkeeping

Where the hands-on work happens – bookkeeping, BAS, and the day-to-day financial engine of a business.

NC

Neapolitan Collective

Where things go deeper – accounting, tax, advisory, and the broader financial life of a business.

FYA

Finance Yourself Academy

Where the understanding lives – helping business owners build the knowledge and confidence to understand their numbers for themselves.

Why Neapolitan?

The name was inspired by the three flavours of Neapolitan ice cream – vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. To us, they represent three layers of great financial support: the foundations, the strategy, and the understanding. Different flavours, but each one works better alongside the others.
